Translation Shortcut
In addition to the recording shortcut, Typeoff has a separate translation shortcut for on-demand translation. By default it's Cmd+J (macOS) or Alt+J (Windows). You can customize it in Settings → Recording → Translation Shortcut.
The translation shortcut cannot be the same as the recording shortcut — Typeoff will warn you if there's a conflict.
For more details, see Language Settings → Translation Shortcut.
Tips
- Choose a key you don't use frequently in your daily apps
- Fn (macOS) and Right Ctrl (Windows) are recommended because they're rarely used by other software
- If your shortcut conflicts with another app, Typeoff will still capture it — but you may want to choose a different key to avoid disruptions
- Key combinations (like
Ctrl+Shift+T) reduce the chance of accidental triggers
